The New York Photographer Alfred Cheney Johnston became famous with his portraits of the Ziegfeld Girls. The photos were considered sexy at the time, but today they are subtly erotic. And thanks to him, the Ziegfelds in the roaring "20s" became the beauty ideal of the younger generation in America.
